Advocacy

Child Care Choices of Boston (CCCB) is one of the regional Child Care Resource & Referral agencies across Massachusetts that publicly advocate for safe, healthy, accessible and affordable child care for children of all abilities, income levels, and ethnic backgrounds.

We promote and facilitate quality child care services by supporting providers and consumers in public and private sector communities while being a bridge to state and local governments and policymakers. We reach out to business leaders, government officials, healthcare professionals, schools and others to ensure quality child care is available to support the economic infrastructure of our local communities.

CCCB helps child care providers learn about licensing requirements, health and safety standards,
business practices and child development.

We support quality rating and improvement systems and provide educational materials to parents, providers and the community to help them engage policymakers in improving child care quality and availability.

We collaborate with other family support services to promote a vision of child care that encompasses health, literacy and special needs. We work with agencies such as the Department of Children & Families and the Department of Transitional Assistance to stabilize each family while ensuring that each family is eligible for the services for which they are applying.

Managing $43 million in vouchers annually requires extensive reviews and monitoring of complex income documents. We work with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care and the Bureau of Special Investigations to report cases of fraud or other issues such as a dangerous home environment.
